XKR 5.0 SC - first impressions

Evening all
Car finally delivered today - 2009 XKR SC 5.0. My first impressions:
1) Love the interior. For a 50,000 mile car it looks literally brand new, not even a crease on drivers seat leather
2) Key-less system is nice, like the start/stop button instead of a key although I found my hand reach for an ignition key the first few times I drove it and got out
3) Touch screen thing is a bit naff if I'm honest - is there anything aftermarket around to replace it but still looks stock? No blue tooth on it for example. Facelift one probably better ....
4) The noise is amazing. Stock exhaust so may consider changing it to release even more but its pretty awesome straight out of the box!
5) Brutal acceleration. Need light right foot to not end up wearing it as a hat. Struggles to get power down but I bought it knowing it would be a handful and not sanitized like my 911 Turbo which is 4wd
6) Gets a lot of attention in a land of Seat Ibiza diesels ...
7) Got a battery warning when I parked up fiddling with stuff, despite it having a new battery - assume I need to do a BMS reset?
8) AC needs regas but I am used to that sourcing cars from UK
Getting back in my old XJ6 was a bit of a shock afterwards acceleration-wise!!!

The battery warning light: the fact that you have a new battery suggests where the problem originates: new batteries are almost NEVER fully charged on installation. These cars need full battery voltage all the time to power the multiple modules. When the battery output drops (which is inevitable with short runs and inconsistent use) random electrical malfunctions surface - the can and do range from the touchscreen freezing to warning lights for various systems to the convertible roof not latching....the list is long and varied. Later models had a low battery warning system; yours does not.
Acrion: have the battery fully charged, and the acquire a CTEK battery maintainer (or similar); this will keep your battery at full charge when the car is not in use (assuming that you have access to an ekectrical outlet = mains connection).
You will love this fabulous car!

Thanks for the advice. I have a Black and Decker cheapo version of a Ctek - 5 of them in fact as all the cars in my garage are plugged in (except this one so far!). They've proved reliable so far over the years. I didn't actually change the battery - the garage who sold it changed it before it was shipped. It started on the button when I met the delivery truck today. Even when battery warning came up it started straight away. Read somewhere when you change the battery you have to reset BMS?
In my E60 M5 when you change the battery you even have to do a battery configuration or you can goose the alternator as it over or under charges .....

Well to be honest thats what I thought but I didn't see it on the menu. Can you give me advice on how to check that again? I literally had to go over from Gibraltar to Spain, meet the truck, give it some beans for an hour, park it in my house in Spain and then back to Gibraltar again so when I say it doesn't have it thats by no means certain. It does definitely have a USB port though - can I just plug my iphone into that and play music from it?

It's just a nag to prompt you to start the engine so as to not deplete the battery so much that it won't fire the starter motor next time around.
Lots of electrics drawing battery power so it's a very conservative warning to start 'er up.
If in doubt and you have a more than four year old standard (not AGM) battery in the car get a new one, preferably AGM.
