Hi Ian,
Welcome. The last model year for the current XK will be 2013 with an all new car debuting in model year 2014, the new car will be a true 2+2 and move even more up market. I was given this information directly from the SE US Jaguar rep. There are some very attractive 2 year lease rates on the XK/R's right now. if you'd like to ask me any specific questions/impressions regarding the 12 XKR I'd be happy to answer them.

I just got a 2012 xkr-s.I was also looking at a Porsche 997 TT S, so I went for the xkr-s due to it's increased performance compared to other jags (not to say the 510 hp xkr is not fast!). I have 4 and 5 yr old kids who occasionally ride in my car- I use the last stage booster seats - just a base- they are like $15 at target and work well. The back seats are small- about the same as a 911 or gtr. They are fine for 1 kid, but with 2 it's a little tight for me since I'm tall and have to move the driver seat pretty far forward (NASCAR style)
