XKR adaptive headlamp failure

Hi, I have the common fault of headlights adaptive system failure in my late 2006 XKR (left hand side) which throws up the warning on dash and puts left headlight “down” for safety.
Ive tried the “smack the lamp”, turn wheels fully left and right x 3 etc. but keeps reappearing.
Ive bought a new control module (plugs in the rear of headlamp unit), however, it makes the OTHER headlamp AFS motor run continuously, albeit both now pointing correctly straight ahead.
The module manufacturer tells me I need Jaguar to “code the new module to the other one” to enable system to work, as the module is generic until coded...5DF 008 704. And the XKR has 70 at the end of that code.
Apologies for long thread but is this something that sounds familiar and is it possible to code a module??
cheers, Simon
