I chose to fit a remote control for fuse 19 so I can choose when to have noisy and when to have it quiet such as on long motorway journeys.
Easy to do and came with 2 very small remotes, one of which I have mounted in the ashtray and the other in the armrest cubby hole.
The two best mods I ever did was to swap for XKR-s centre pipes (new from Jag) then leave the fuse. The XKR-s has the standard rear exhaust box so fits in 30 mins. Then the Supercharger wheel change.
Changes the whole car with a re map. Better fuel economy too with this. These engines are bullet proof, so no sleep lost.

I, too, am following down the path you've taken. Being really new to the cars, does a different center pipe increase sound or HP, or both? Tell us more about the wheel; what, from where, is it a DIY fit, or does the car need a tune in conjunction with the wheel. Again, is this for performance or HP gain?

Does anyone have any concerns with removing the fuse permanently from electrical standpoint? Can it be considered fully safe? Also how would this impact the vacuum pump in the long term?

I've not had fuse 19 installed for maybe eight years. I DID put it in once to show my son some months ago how that worked and it operated perfectly well. It's out again.

Fuse 19 has been out of my car since May of 2015, no problems.

+1 since 2013 and have never wanted to put it back in.

Note that the 4.2L XKR and 5.0L XKR exhausts don't sound the same. The 4.2L is higher pitched and less raspy than the 5.0L, and not offensively loud unless you mash the exhilarator pedal. Light gas pedal pressure sounds almost like fuse 19 is still in.

A centre crossover helps blend left and right exhaust manifolds and uneven firing orders. The resonators you've got do that already, the difference is the R-S is only a crossover and you've got the additional silencing. It's all acoustics and has minimal effect on performance without a full custom header back exhaust and tune.

I removed Fuse 19 from my old 4.2 XKR the day after I collected it and didn't put it back until about the day before I traded it in, 5 and a bit years later. The system still worked, as far as I could tell.

In addition to removing the fuse, try changing the exhaust tips as well. The sound can be tuned by changing the tips to perforated type.

Do you have any links or brand suggestions? Are the tips secured with screws, or spot-welded? (it's raining cats and dogs, so I can't go to the garage to look....)

Its only water .
The factory tips are welded on. However, there are perforated inserts available…
