The XKR-S really pulled on the Z06. It wouldn't do this to the new Z06 when it's out. Jag pulled strong.

I have immediately jumped about five car lengths on two new corvettes. One from a light and another from about 20 mph. I reported earlier about driving my friends new Shelby, 600 plus h.p. A tire burner but doesn't feel as fast as the XKR-S in middle gears. Good dragster probably. Nothing like instant torque! My 911 track car is still the most fun on curvy country roads but the Jag. comes to life on long hilly country roads with big curves.
I'm fortunate to have a home where I can experience that.

The Shelby is deceptively fast because of the long gearing it has. It pulls and pulls but doesn't hit as hard as you would think. Ford put in 3.31 rear gearing I believe to avoid the gas guzzler tax and to make the run at 200 MPH in a mustang. I'm probably going to swap in some 3.73's in mine. I've read it really wakes the car up and should have been an option from the factory. A few simple mods on a '13/'14 Shelby and its a 10 second car.

I always enjoyed the transmission in the XKR-S (except for not being able to physically shift it myself). It was easily the best auto I've ever experienced. Superbly snappy and just felt quality, quiet and with never a hiccup. The gear ratios seemed perfect and it pulled hard throughout the RPM band. Well I guess first gear was sort of useless and could have been longer, but I almost always started in 2nd gear when in dynamic/sport mode and shifting with the paddles.

The Eurocharged tune was great too, and the Michelin Pilot Super Sports...both of those the best mods I did to the car. Highly recommend if you are on the fence.

might as well 4.10 and yes you are correct why they did that.

Default recently acquired

I picked up a 2012 XKRS this past weekend from Lamborghini of Vancouver. Great people to work with and I am thrilled with the car. The link to their pictures of the car I bought from them is here:

Congratulations! Sweet looking XKR-S. One suggestion, switch out your amber front side markers to clear. EMO, on your color, it will make your car look very clean, streamlined and more euro.

Very nice!

On a separate note, has anyone applied 3M clear film to their XKRS? I am thinking about doing bumper and hood. This thing collects sctratches like no other... Bumper looks like a tough piece to work on

I had a full front end wrap, side sills, and rear bumper done. Cost a small fortune and was custom from Esoteric Auto Detail in Columbus, Ohio | Detailing, Clear Bra, Training, and Product Sales. | Esoteric Detail | Esoteric Car Care

They did it on my 2013 XKRS

Hi: Last night I responded to the poll and clicked on Polaris White not realizing that the previous owner of my car OCTURBO had probably voted as I later read through the threads and saw threads with his name on it.

Therefore the Polaris White numbers should be one less (5 instead of 6) as the car is counted double in the poll. hope the mods can fix it!

Regarding the clear bra issue. I have one on my Ferrari 550. The bra does get torn from rocks and stones hitting it...not sure that a good respray periodically would not be just as good....and just as cost effective on the XKR-S. I think it is somewhat dependent on car color. White hides a lot of sins...other colors will show everything!

I had a clear bra on my XKR since new. IMO clear protective film is over rated. However, it does protect the "original" paint which people are so particular about when it comes to resale. A good repaint of any stone damaged areas IMO is better.

Posting on behalf of my father, who just picked up a 2012 in Ultimate Black w/ London tan interior. Since I'll be maintaining it for him (and driving it occasionally) I figured I'm close enough to the owner! There's some pics in the main Pictures thread.
