I noticed 2 other XKRs in the small city where i live, Halifax, NS, Canada. Both 2010-2011 and black in color. Same color as my 2013. I don't feel as unique as I did before. The XKR-S would have almost guaranteed me a one-of-a-kind car in my area. With the price on the XKR-S '12s falling so much they're a great deal.

I know it says XFR in the link but its the same ones on the XKR too.
Hey Matt Wuzzup?

I bought the CB hood vents or louvers along with a dead pedal and the CB mirror covers. I'm nervous about taking the plunge with the mirror covers because you have to epoxy them on. I don't think I'm going to do that. I'll have to talk to the Jag shop. Have you seen any mirror covers installed?

Cheers!

Awesome! I love the hood vents and I was considering the mirror covers, but no I haven't seen any installed. I wonder if you can use a different adhesive that is less permanent than epoxy? Keep us posted after you talk to the shop.

Take care!

Where did you buy dead pedal? How does it attach to the floor?

I bought the dead pedal and CB vents and covers from Mina Gallery. I have no idea how to attach it. I'm going to let the Jag shop worry about that. I know that a couple of the folks here on the forum have done it. Do a search for dead pedals. When I get it installed I'll let you know how they did it.

Cheers!

The carpet hump that the dead pedal goes on is formed carpet with only an empty space under it. The backing of the carpet is formed out of a cardboard like material. Simply screw the dead pedal to the moulded carpet or one could use Velcro. There is nothing to damage under the raised carpet. See pictures below.

Hi,
had my XKR-S in IRR for nearly a year, love it to bits.

The only negative thing it has is the Audio, even with Treble down and Bass up it still sounds naff, to such an extent that most of the time I leave it off and just put it in dynamic and listen to the exhaust instead.

Regards to the carbon bonnet louvres, I took my existing ones off, it's very quick and easy to do, and posted it to a car wrapping company (along with the photo off the Jag website) cost $90 for them to be wrapped in gloss carbon and silver lettering. I couldn't justify the $900 for real carbon, especially as I wasn't sure wether I'd prefer the normal red. This way I can easily peel off the wrap if it's not to my taste.

Welcome and thanks for checking in. Your car looks great!

Unfortunately, I think the coupes suffer more from the audio than the verts...Mine isn't that bad at all and I am pretty picky. However, I also much prefer the sound of the exhaust in dynamic mode, especially with the top down.

The carbon fiber louvers are available from Mina Gallery for $175. Sounds like you got a great deal wrapping them for $90.

Enjoy your XKR-S.

Thanks for the info, that's a lot less than what Jaguar are asking for, I'll be over in the US next year and may treat myself to a set of those.

They will probably have no problem shipping them, too. They are under the XFR exterior section on their website. They also fit the XKR. I don't know why they dont list them under XKR.

Here is a link.

So far the cheapest convertible I've found is $89,880. As of December 14 2013.

Looks like a good deal, with 12k miles.

You scared me when I read this post, so I did a search. Looks like the range for 2012 xkr-s is $87k-$115k. I got something in the mail from my local jag dealer that offered me $89k for trade in for my car if I purchased a new jag from them. I think private party for most 2012's would be $90k's. It is a pretty steep depreciation, but these cars are now 2 years old. You see as much or more depreciation with Amg Mercedes, Aston martins, maserati's,etc

Yesterday, I put a deposit on a blue XKR-S 2012!

I'm gonna import it from US to Canada. I'll officially have it in 15-20 days.

As most of us Jaguar XK/XKR/XKR-S owners have stated, the major amount of depreciation on these specific cars, comes within the first 3 years. So anybody that bought new, or 1 to 2 years old will suffer a depreciation factor.

Ref the factors, case in point in May 2013 I purchased my 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition Convertible (which is a very limited edition of only 200 convertibles imported into the USA) for $46,000. Now it is only 7 months later and current pricing on this car actually exceeds my purchase price. One factor we don't know is the final sales prices of these listed secondary market Jaguars.

So, I feel that these cars (after 3 years of declining value due to depreciation factors) have a tendency to normalize and hold values very well, especially a Jaguar with low mileage.

This is so nice to know.

Under $80K on autotrader.com. They have a couple of coupes listed.

I imported my second XKR, a 2013 XK-R in July from West Palm Beach, Florida. Ouch the Canadian dollar is taking a beaten these days at an 8.5% trade deficit. However, it still is more economical to import and the selection in the US is so much better.

Where are you from in Canada? Welcome and congratulations.

Prices are higher in CA and west coast- I guess I did not make my search radius far enough. Within 500 mi of my house on cars.com the range is 89k - 130k
