XKR sport mode

I don’t want to muddy the waters so…please take notice
With regard to my 2008 US version XK Base Convertible with active suspension:
(it is an XK not XKR---the shocks are different between the two versions, possibly the programming is different for the shocks between the two…
Also
A 2008 US version might be a 2007 European version, don’t know.
It is a 4.2, not a 5.0 the 5.0 have different active shocks…ie variable rather than soft/hard)
The suspension is quite soft in D mode; it floats over undulations and rolls and wobbles in quick transitions.
If the gear selector is put in the S mode the car is transformed into a reasonably agile version of itself. It no longer floats, it still dives and rolls but to a much lesser extent.
The rev points are elevated; throttle inputs have a more and quicker set of responses.
In S mode using the paddles, if you bump the red line it will shift to the next higher gear.
In S mode this particular car will NOT switch back to ‘normal S’ if you have used the paddles and then hold the up paddle for some (any) duration of time.
I know all of the above to be factual.
I had contacted MoscowLeaper a while back and he confirmed that the shocks do switch over in S mode.
‘Since you have intimate knowledge concerning the 2007/2008 xk engine and transmission controls I assume (hope) you can answer several questions related specifically to the NA 2007/2008 xk150, 4.2.
When the selector is put in S is there a change to the CATS controls?’
1. Yes, diffrent curve is selected, CATS are at stiff setting (however may switch to soft on a bad road for example)
