Default XKR USB/iPOD ports

Hi Forum,
I just went out and bought a new iPOD thinking it should work in my USB port. Guess what, it doesn't. Any thoughts on how I can either get it to work or possibly getting an adapter that will allow me to use the old iPOD port in the car itself? I don't want to use Bluetooth because I use that for my phone. Or can I use Bluetooth for both?

Yes you should use bluetooth for both. What you going to do, listen to radio in one ear and the phone in the other. Bluetooth with automatically cut music when phone rings and let you use your phone thorough a multi thousand dollar stereo system.

If you have hearing aids you will love the 1000 watt phone call. lol

Throw that ipod away its really low quality sound- i.e mp3, get wav easy to do on phone.

Get a genuine Lightning to 30-Pin adapter and plug it in to the original cable. People seem to have had problems with cheap copies so I would stick with a genuine one.

I use an Apple supplied adapter to fit the receptacle in the car.

This is true, I tried an ebay adapter and it did not work. I bought a genuine Apple 30 pin to Lightning adapter and voila, it was fine. Now if only I could have used the Tune2Air 30 pin attachment. Alas, it would not work in my car. It would do the 1 second play routine which was very irritating.
