Quick question folks. I am looking to purchase a Jaguar Xkr, but for a similar price, I am seeing the xkr 175. Why wouldn't I get the 175 for same money? Keep in mind mileages are between 40k miles to 54k miles. The prices on 5 units currently for sale. 26k,28k,27k,25k and 26k. I'm paying cash for my ride, so I want the most for my money. Cheers!
The pride in knowing the 175 is a limited edition? Of course, nearly every XKR is limited, so a speculative point.
The one question.... do you want to go faster than 155 mph? The 175s limiter is...... 175!
Special XKR 175 door sill plates are something.
That's about it.
I'm going to be completely bias as I have all my dash trims finished in piano Black and looking to get my stitching redone In red/burgundy.. the xkr 175 already has all of this plus larger spoilers and different sills
If ou prefer a sportier look go for the xkr175 if you like your xkr looking more conservative go the standard variety
Outside of Germany, the increased top speed is academic. The spoilers do improve high-speed stability but again, mainly academic. The 175 seems to be a speed pack XKR with a few options. But it is black only, right?
Me, I would get the one in best condition/history/spec and then in a colour I like, if there is an option. If that ends up being the 175, then OK but I'm so tired of seeing black cars (and white to be honest but XK/XKRs do look good in any colour)
I've owned both. If you can afford it get a MY12 or later. The XKR175 is a standard XKR painted black, charcoal interior, body kit and with no performance upgrades--it doesn't even have the performance exhaust (however this can be changed with a simple mod). A MY12+ with dynamic pack comes with upgraded suspension, tuned ACM for sportier ride (quicker shifts), same XKR175 body kit and speed limiter at 174. An XKR with the dynamic pack has the same performance enhancements as the XKR-S less the 550hp engine tune. More importantly the MY12+ have a backup camera, LED lights, and comes with optioned performance seats and a better choice of wheels. IMO, the best deal to come out of England is the MY14 Dynamic R, loaded with sought after options.

ive had 3 XKR..2009, 2014 and a 175. The 175 IS mechanically different not just body work as some mentioned. Its 10mm lower has stiffer springs, dynamics and larger knuckles. It handles better than a stock xkr. Plus its 1 of 175 and its already black!
I'm not superstitious, but ... well, it's a black cat.
My first and last black car was a 1993 Acura Legend Coupe, which I bought new. Great car, but you could fry eggs on the hood in the summer in Hotlanta and it showed every speck of dust and pollen and always looked dirty. After that experience, I vowed to never own another black car.
The XKR 175 also got the side skirts and front splitter of the speedpack option as standard, I believe. I added those skirts and front splitter by ordering from Mina Galleries. Just a little different look to the side profile.

Strange that Jaguar forgot to put that information in the press release for the 175
The European 75 had that spec but the press release for the 175 only mentions this. The rest of the description in it is about the standard XKR.
"XKR175 75th Anniversary Coupe
The Jaguar XKR175 75th Anniversary Coupe is painted Ultimate Black and is also distinguished
by aerodynamic enhancements, including front and rear spoilers, side sills and a rear diffuser.
The 20-inch Kasuga alloy wheels are exclusive to this special edition model and highlight the
standard red brake calipers. Raising the electronically governed top speed from 155 mph to 174
mph exclusively for this special edition underscores the formidable performance capability of the
XKR. All XKR models are powered by a 510-hp direct-injection supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that
was introduced for the 2010 model year.
Inside the XKR175 75th Anniversary Coupe, the Charcoal leather trimmed interior is accented
with Cranberry stitching and Piano Black veneer trim. All of the XKR175 75th Anniversary
Coupes feature doorsill tread plates inscribed “XKR175 – 1 of 175.”

If you take the part numbers off dampers and measure the stock ride height and most of all drive one back to back with a stock xkr … then you will know… the European spec had different wheels, tune and exhaust along with all the other 175 specs.
Maybe yours was modified then because none of the motoring press reviews of the 175 at the time or the 2011 brochures, or the 2011 order guide, or the 175 press release or the parts system mention suspensions differences for the 175 but they all do for the 75. Seems like a huge oversight!
Go with the XKR175, I love mine and looking at all the replies in this thread there is a lot of truths and myths, there are a couple of great You Tube reviews when it came out and explains and goes over the enhancements, more features then the Vantage that was posted in this thread, in fact the designer that designed the Vantage and DB’s designed the XKR, I have been wanting to upgrade to a newer F Type but even the newest 2021 model I held out to drive still does nothing for me, it looks like a mix of an Audi and a Mazda… no style at all, the only thing the F Type has is the exhaust noise, they also lost me when they started offering 4 and 6 cylinder options, for 2022 they finally dropped those and only offer the v8, they are all wheel drive but same HP as my XKR175 and that makes it not as hard hitting as they need more hp to get all 4 up to speed, I am hoping they make a more hp model in 2022 but it’s still ugly… the DB11 is a beauty… just my long winded opinion.
