XKRS brakes

What speeds were you braking from? Mine were fine in the 120MPH range but repeated stops from 150ish to 30 toasted them, even with EBC Yellow stuff pads. There was mild fade and shutter near the end of the session. I also noticed it again during the the last R Academy where we had two turns under hard braking from 130. I also stayed out of the ABS as much as possible as its really hard on the brakes.
When I removed the pads the wear as also very uneven with a lot of pressure in the center and not much around the outer 1/2 inch of the edges.
So I went for an upgrade![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

MaximA, did you get the Alcons installed? Would like to see how they look behind the P101s.

The x100 XKR had the 4 pot Brembos through the end of the run in 2006.
They stop plenty well enough but don't have a great deal of feel. That probably has more to do with the system design and the assit than it does the calipers though.
One of the nicest things about them is that you can pull two pins and out come the pads through the back, without having to unbolt anything. Well ok, you have to unbolt the wheel...

The best pricing I can find for just the pads only is $520 for the front and $395.87 for the rear for my 2005 x100 XKR with the Factory cross-drilled Brembos. If I needed rotors this time, which I don't in my opinion, They are $811.20 for a set of 2 on the front and the same $811.20 for 2 on the rear. Since my last job was pads and rotors, that bill from the Jag dealer was $4,000 or so. Are there no after market pads that can fit the Brembos, or are we like the meal buyers at the airports- captive customers paying, well, let's say robust prices? I'm trying to get this pounding in my wallet to stop. Any suggestions?
