Default XKRS Chin spoiler removal

I need to remove the carbon chin for some reconditioning. Has anyone see the proper tech guide on this? I know there are a few bolts on the bottom, but was not sure if this required full bumper removal to take off. As there some retaining clips on the top side of the lip?
Any info or experience is appreciated.

Derek, if you wrap it you wont need to remove it. I would put wrap then go over it with paint protection film, i.e overlay, clear wrap. You will get much more durability.
I have tons of both, and can send you some if you cant find it.

Default Spoiler alert! :)

If it's the same as on my 2014 XK the chin spoiler is attached by 4 bolts, there is also black mastic betwixt the spoiler and bumper and some (2) self tapping screws where the centre piece meets overlaps/inserts into the side pieces.

I know as caught a curb and had to reinstate, i think it's made to give as opposed to ripping the whole bumper off if you hit a curb...as i did

Talking out of my nether regions if yours is one piece!

Steve it's a tough one to get the angle right, my car is identical to the one in the pic, excepting the pic shows a white chin spoiler, where mine is black, hopefully this helps?

You can see it's made up of 3 pieces, and weirdly black is harder to photograph than white

I think it looks brilliant just today I was walking back to the car thinking I wish the front spoiler could be sitting a little lower to the ground giving it that road hugging look

And it does, but having caught mine twice on the edge of curbs (I was reversing down a slope) I was cursing it when had to re-attach

They are pricey however, just noticed this XK-RS one on UK ebay, that is a single piece unit

The XKRS has a completely different front bumper, the OP is not referring to the 3 piece Aero Pack front spoiler...

Yes and I acknowledged this in my post immediately prior to yours, with a link to an RS one...keep up man!!

For those without the aero pack front lip spoiler, I've never seen one listed 2nd hand, so perhaps if you hear of one that's been wrecked with rear end/side damage you'll have to get in their first....any front end collision will mean that flimsy spoiler is toast!

Mina makes one for the XKRS and is much cheaper and exellent fits with 4 bolts.

Apologies to clarify From this model 2012+XKRS. The factory carbon chin has four lower bolts and I’m assuming some retaining clips on top but wasn’t sure. I did not want to yank on it without knowing. If it has retaining clips, my assumption is the chin needs full bumper removal to take off.
As you see in photo, I have some scrapes from the previous owner (which is the only flaw). Thus, I’m going to take it off-Fill with resin and reapply clear.
