I noticed this morning that the right wing of my XKRS called Molding Kit-C2P21969XXX had popped. It appears to be attached just by a double-sided tape and a fixing plastic pin. No screws or special fasteners.
I tried to reattach it from the inside. But after removing the front under-cover and the wheel cover, i cannot access to the fixing mechanism.
I don't understand the purpose of these 2 holes and how to access the inner part of the bumper in order to attach the wing without removing the bumper itself.
AH! I see...... one of the holes on your bumper has two sizes... put the pin into the large part of the slotted hole and push it forward so it locks into the smaller hole. Use some goop to hold the rest, as evidently the factory did because of all the residue still on the bumper. That DOES line up when in position, right? It's hard to tell from the photos.

This photo is only for illustration. It's a wing of the left side. I flipped the photo to make easier to understand
The pin you show me goes on a simple hole with the same size. But you're right, there's another slotted hole facing the front hole of the wing (red arrow). And in this case I assume that a pin is missing here.

Reason: add photo
3M Dual Lock is a velcro like product that is MUCH stronger than velcro. GM uses it to attach many trim parts. If all else fails, it may work for you.
Thanks but in this case I prefer windshield adhesive. It's stronger and it's a bit flexible. But before using it I ask only to know what is the factory solution.
