Hi all.
we have a 2009 XKR. I think it must be one of the first (or very early) 5.0 litre models. It has the B&W audio system.
Therefore it has the iPod and USB connectors in the centre console glove box. What it lacks is an Aux-in socket. On our old 2009 XF-S portfolio the same audio system included an Aux.
Just wondering if anyone has any idea how one might add it in. It seems very close to the “full fat” interface, so is there anything one can tap into ?
I’ve looked at a lot of threads about adding the mobile device interface, but not come across anyone with this issue.
Any ideas.

You have the ipod connector in the console I presume? If so, you can connect that directly to an older ipod, or get an adapter cable like this: https://www.ebay.com/i/232420769404?chn=ps
You need a female 30 pin to plug into the Jaguar lead. It will be interesting to see if it works.
want to plug a little DAB adapter into it. Using the FM tx at the moment, which is ok but not brilliant
The only issue is that I already have an old iPod plugged into that and it means swapping them over to use each one.
So I’d still be interested to know if there was a not too expensive way of adding an Aux-in

UK and US model years are confusing. Note that the North American 2009 X150 is the last 4.2L model year and the UK 2009 X150 is the first 5.0L model year. I'm pretty sure that the Audio Connectivity Module is the same for both cars.
My 2009 XKR has two AUX inputs, USB and iPod as shown below. There is no separate stereo plug connector. 2009 was the first year the ACM was standard equipment.
You select the AUX input from the touchscreen, either USB or iPod.
I'd be leery about using an adapter that plugs into the iPod connector because the cable might not work with Jaguar connectivity. I suggest going through the USB port.
If you want to use a device that has a stereo plug output, this type of adapter that plugs into the USB port might work. You'll have to try it and determine if the steering wheel functions work and the sound quality is acceptable. Search Amazon for "USB to Stereo Audio Adapter ".
I agree with being Leary about the iPod connector. Using the female connector into the jaguar connector is probably best.
also, I'm pretty sure the usb adapters will not work. The car reads files off of the usb drive, it is not an analog audio interface. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

The USB is NOT an audio interface. It will ONLY read files.

Sorry, I can see some confusion.
What I'm after is the 3.5mm Aux socket. The iPOD and USB are there in ourse, but I think as early as 2010 a 3.5mm socket was added too.
So was it a new type of ACM that provided this or is it there under the trim, but unused ?
The AUX with a 3.5mm socket was never fitted to the XK, it was in the XF though, and it can be turned on (like in my pics) I haven't got around to adding the missing wires to the connector in the back of the head unit yet to try it...
I have an adaptor harness here from a Volvo that will work with some modification, and funny enough a dealer is able to turn on the AUX input (in a 2009MY 4.2 at least) but I haven't had time to get it done, too busy working on other peoples cars to play with my own...
The unit on the left, 7W8319C166AB, is what Stuart S pictured in his car, and in fact is labeled 'X150' on the part I have.
The unit on the right, 8X2319C166AD, may be what Cambo's diagram refers to.
The 'USB and iPod' module is identical on both, just screwed onto the backing plate.
The 'AUX' jack has a 4 pin connector on the back.

Don't know if the larger unit will fit my X150 (without some trimming), just been too busy with work to check it out.
Just buy a 3.5mm socket and put it somewhere no need to change the panel. In the XF it's just three separate wires from the socket to the head unit, it's totally separate from the iPod/USB.
Thanks all for the information. Very useful. I’ll have a look round as to how easy it would be to get the head unit out to get to the rear connectors.
