That's crazy how prices are so low in the US!
Over here in European Union, you won't find it under 35.000$ .
Their price is even rising slowly for few months.
Most of fuel powered used cars are incrising in price as people can't afford or simply don't agree with the massive brainwashing for chinese origin electric cars.

I have noticed that the published 'value range' numbers from Autotrader, HPI, Confused and so forth have all gone up slightly even in the month since I bought my car. But convertibles only sell in good weather. I'm expecting the value of my car to be lower in a few months time.

British market is slightly different. Your cars are extremely cheap as there's a very enclosed market. In the EU the prices are rising on most "old" cars. Hopefully the XKs being extremely rare, their price will get high like most collectible cars.. And in 20 years when they will worth +150.000$, americans will suddenly want them again and the price in the US will rise too

I've kind of suspected that all of the late model Jaguars (particularly the ones that are still new enough that half or more of the potential buyers intend to daily drive them) would be impacted by the Jaguar dealer network shutting down. Also most late model buyers don't know one end of a wrench from the other and will have to rely on someone else to maintain them. If a buyer here in Fort Worth did any research and found our dealership has closed and our local Jaguar independent specialist is shorthanded, overwhelmed and scheduling repair appointments months out, he'd be inclined to bid on something else.
On the other hand, I think a lot of people realize that gasoline power, particularly v8 power is just about legislated away. Many people are going to try to hold onto their v8 cars longer and rack up a lot more miles on them than they would have if they could still buy new v8 cars. Many more buyers are probably jumping in thinking that its going to be their last chance to own a v8 that hasn't been run into the ground yet. Will they jump in on a Jaguar v8 now though?
I'm not certain which is the more powerful market force, logical information-based decision-making or heart-over-head emotional decision-making. However, outside of these forums and the car shows that I go to, I rarely run into anyone for whom an automobile is anything more than an appliance. Wealthy appliance buyers won't even consider a used Jaguar anymore no matter what luxury features it has (even if it had a built-in nugget-style ice dispenser) and even us gearheads have that little senior accountant sitting on on our right shoulder, whispering in our ear, countering every argument offered by the devil sitting on our left. So I kind of suspect logic will have an outsized impact on used Jaguar prices going forward.

I still hear a lot of non-car people saying about used Jags that they cost a fortune to maintain, are really unreliable, are really thirsty and aren't even very fast. But also these people say "of course if I had the money I'd love to own one".
I had a narrator in the studio the other day who's currently driving a Lexus. He said he needed to get rid and would replace it with a Mercedes E class. "Oh sure, he said wistfully, I'd just love to have a Jag - maybe an XF - but I couldn't take the risk. It wouldn't be reliable and it would cost far too much to look after".
And several people have come up to me to ask about my car and been shocked when I tell them it's got 510BHP and does 0-60 in 4.6. it's as if they never imagined an old Jaguar would do that. It's as if everyone thinks all Jags are a 1985 XJ-S.

Check and compare with the continental price of cars, you'll see https://www.theparking-cars.co.uk/
A LOOOT of french would get their cars in UK if you were driving on the right side of the road

I never thought of the dealers as I guessed they would be overly expensive and snob...But I thought a good mechanic would be easy to find and would be pleased to work on such a great car...after few years without a car I discovered independant mechanics have realmostally disappeared in the regions.
Luckily It's because I heard from a very good Jaguar Specialist in Paris suburbs that I decided to take the plunge. But I'm a third of the year in the countryside and finding someone there was desperatly complicated. They all just wants to "work" cheap way on Renaults,Peugeot and Citroen . Easy money with customers who knows nothing about their "transporter".

Although mine is high mileage (impossible to find a convertible in this budget with lower mileage and that wasn't black or grey..), my goal is to keep her for decades...and using it as a daily (even though in Paris I'll use my bike and electric scooter for everyday short commuting).
So I'll have the work done whenever it's needed. My only fear is the excessive digital stuff in it...I hate everything computers in cars..I wish she was purely mechanics with just ABS, Airbags and ESC...but anyway, I'm glad i found her and will have her serviced next week.( TPMS wire repairing,EGR replacement, Oil flush and filter, air filters replaced, rear axle overhaul, A/C checked/repaired )and in october she'll go to the jaguar specialist in Paris suburb.
I'm conscious that I have a very rare car (much more than 911 or Sls) with a legendary engine, almost always the pretiest on any parking around... and I must say that expressing a massive F**** Off to the dictatorial socialists from Paris city hall trying to bring back freedom of moove to medieval age, is a HUGE cherry on the icing.

To me getting the XKR is like when people were buying SM ,DS, db5 or 250gt in the 70's...Whatever the range, they were getting out of production cars, with a reputation but with an "old guys pick" image..
30/50 years later the one who kept them were on the right side. And I'm almost sure the modern XK's will be highly sought after in the next decades as the older ones are today.

Hi lads, maybe I’m an outlier but I had an 2006 XKR, that was a great car, very reliable, with espectacular lines and really quick. Someone that says that 400 HP is not enough never went out of the electronics jail (traction control, abs, etc).
Then I’ve got my XK 2012, again, super reliable car, I bought it with a 5 year bumper to bumper extended warranty, so replaced the water pump for free however I have to tell you that even considering what I spent today in the car with 7xk miles, the warranty is as completely unnecessary. The water pump was the only thing important I’ve don’t to the car. Then normal maintained.
What is true is that some people buy them and can’t even afford to do the proper maintenance, so if you buy a car that was not properly maintained well, you will pay the price. That’s with every car brand.
Regarding the price of the publish car, we are in a repo crisis right now, which increases the offer and reduce prices so off course our car prices are going to fall too. But the prices of other cars are falling too, the stock market is falling too, so loosing 5 of 10k in your car is not a big deal, and will just affect you if you sell the car to keep the money. If you buy another car or stocks you will be just fine.
Lads, enjoy your cars, are beautiful and very confortable machines. And if you do the right maintenance you will enjoy your car for a long time.
