Mystery car

When I was growing up in the wilds of Georgia (US) back in the 60s-70s, my father was an avid sports car buff. We had two Jaguar XK-140s, among many other cool cars. It was amazing the kinds of cars we would come across in the Georgia countryside - a for-real XK-140MC and an Alfa Sprint Speciale, to name two. We found one car that, to this day, remains a mystery. It was an XK-120 roadster with 5-lug wire wheels and no headlights, almost like a racing machine. Not only did it not have headlights, we discovered that it had never had headlights (solid sheet metal where the holes should have been). Unfortunately, the body was beyond hope, so my dad used the frame on another car. The car is lost now, but if someone in this forum can help identify it, it would clear up a long-standing mystery.
Thanks,
Les

I presume you've done a lot of Googling and came up empty handed.
Back in the 50s car customizing was all the rage. Over the course of many years I've seen pics/articles of numerous XK120-140-150s that were one-off customs commissioned by individual owners. Plus Jag chassis' of the day were often used as the basis for limited production specials by known coachbuilders
I'm guessing yours was a one-off but....who knows?
Sorry I can't offer anything useful
Others will come along with more, I'm sure
Cheers
