Verify Year Model

Welcome to the forum Sheila,
Your 1960 XK150 pre-dates the VIN system by many years. The build year of the Chassis Number you have quoted can be verified in documents available from Jaguar Hertitage Trust
Jaguar Heritage. Jaguar First Chassis Numbers by Model and Year
The Trust (which hold the official factor records) produces PDF's of Chassis Numbers by model which can be downloaded free of charge.
If the DMV is being especially pedantic, the Trust can provide a Heritage Certificate which includes date of manufacture and relevant identification numbers of your XK150:
Jaguar Heritage. Heritage Certificate
This is a chargeable service but is often considered to be a valuable addition to the provenance of a Jaguar.

Shelia GGG is right but as you live in North America you may obtain the exact same certificate here Library | Jaguar Clubs of North America. Go to forms and documents and select "heritage Certificate request form" and follow the instructions in the word document. If you are a JCNA member the cost is $35 but even if you are not it is only $50 as to the aprox. $63 from the UK. In any case you do need this for verification. Best of luck!

I wasn't aware of the JCNA alternative.

GGG it is not actually a JCNA thing. It is a partnership with JLR NA that has existed in this area and others for 60 + years. Actually I think there is an agreement between Heritage and JLR NA about territory but that is their business. Simple fact is they share all certificates (digital) and issue the exact same document from the exact same sources. A lot of cars that change hands have already been researched and are recorded so it is just a matter of pressing print--when that is the situation they make a bit of profit!
