Default XK120 Brake Master Cylinder

Anybody done a conversion on the brake master cylinder for an XK 120?
Tandem. Is there a more modern, available master cylinder that will fit?
Thanks

Default tandem brake master cyl

While other fitments can be made..the tandem mcyl once set up correctly works well without problems. The usual problems are in rebuilds where the seals are damaged as they are pushed in past the protruding lower edges of the tilt valves. Jag wrote a service bulletin about this,. The other issue is exhaust heat to the mcyl fluid. A heat shield is advised and available (from Basset). Once done..no worries, works well. Rebuild kits are available. Hang on to any original tandem Mcyl..many replacments that are not orig are inferior. Better to always rebuild an orig.
