Hello, I have a 53 xk120 FHC. While trying to open the doors, as they were stuck. The exterior door handles came out. I was not able to see what the rod was connecting to. A rod came out, square rode shape. A dome little piece of metal that slips over the square rod and a spring. My question, how does this rod connect with the lower handle inside the car to make the lower rod move in and out engaging the door lock? I think I am missing a rod or connecting lever, problem is no one is old enough that has the experience with this kind of door lock set up. I cant find a breakdown in the book that shows how the door lock connects from the inside to the outside.
The lower door handle works and engages the lever from the inside. Any guidance would help me.
