How to empty radiator coolant ?

Isn't that the truth---the coolant drain on every car I've worked on is designed to go all over the frame and make a mess. I think that must be in the SAE (society of automotive Engr's.) handbook under cooling systems. "Priorty number 1: "Make sure radiator drain plug is placed to make the biggest mess possible."

In normal operation, coolant is drawn back from the Bottle by vacuum as the coolant in the Expansion Tank contracts. If the Bottle happened to be empty and drew air back, you'd then just have to top up the Expansion Tank.

Yes - but the remaining volume in the block is very small compared to overall coolant system capacity.

The only readily accessible point is the cylinder block heater or the blanking plug where a heater hasn't been fitted.
