Instructions - Door Panel Removal (door card for you Brits) "How To"
First, remove the little supertweeter grille covers, be careful, easily snaps off, ask me how I know.
The removal of that little plug requires one of those little shop tools that look like a dental tool, otherwise, you'll tear it up trying to pry it out with a small screwdriver. Go to Northern Tool and get a small set for $3.
That little trim piece with the 'plastic stud' simply pulls out from under the switch pack. Very important, don't forget this, otherwise you wont be able to access the switch pack mounting screw. My audio shop didn't do this step and snapped the wood thinking it was just 'snugly' snapped in there.
Start at the top right (by the supertweeter) or top left, and slowly work your way around the panel pulling outward to release those male/female love buttons (aka fasteners)
More than likely, a few of your male fasteners will snap off during removal and reinstallation, so before you start, stop by the dealer and pick up a handfull for around $1 a piece. You'll be happy you did.
This is probably as far as you'll need to go, no need to disassemble anything else to get to the window adjustments.

Hey h20boy, I'm going to be pulling my door panel off over the weekend. Do I need to buy some of those little plastic ratcheting stud things in advance, or do the existing ones come out without breaking?
I'm opening up my door to try to fix the problem with the door ajar sensor. The more I get to know my car, the more I realize that the previous owner was involved in a boo-boo on the left side that they didn't tell me about. The paint not matching is the biggest clue, but also the door ajar switch isn't working, the door panel is not attached quite right, and when I bought the car the left rear tire was almost bald. The tire issue makes me wonder if there is something going on with the frame that is preventing a proper alignment. Also, the left rear wheel speed sensor was the one that was extra dirty while the others were relatively clean in comparison. All of the problems with the car have been on the left side.

yikes, sounds like you've got a handicap car, little slow on the left side she's special.
I didn't buy the clips at first, but broke one my first removal, then another 2 after another 6 or so. They're $1, so if you pass by a dealer, pick up a few, just in case. If you do break one, just make sure its not in a corner or at the top...you can move them around if need be.
good luck with the latch, good guess it got broke if you did have a door collision in the past.

It's not the latch, it's the sensor that detects when the door is open. I didn't even know I had a problem until I mentioned the issue with the window rolling back up as soon as I release the handle and someone asked if the interior light came on when the door was opened. Looking at the wiring diagram it looks like the problem has to be with the door ajar sensor itself, or possibly the door module.

Great instructions and photos ... Thanks! Last week, I removed both door panels in order to fit tweeters to the audio system (much improved sound!). I found the removal to be straight forward with no difficulties. While in there, I added more sound deadening material to the doors as well as to the trunk (boot) directly behind the gas tank. The difference in road noise is amazing.

Yep, I just looked up that thread. Beauregard says the switch is in the latch. Now I have something else to do today. I'm going to be sad one day when I run out of things to mess with on the Jag. What will I do with my time?

Sorry to bump this thread, I just wanted to add my video to it for anyone who wants to see how easy it is before trying it on their own. I was trying to explain it to someone and I noticed it wasn't in the FAQs. Not that I'm trying to hog the FAQs or anything, I just figured this would be helpful.
