Rear seat delete
There have been a few requests from forum members to show some pictures of what used to be my back seat. The goal was to remove the seat and seat belts but make no permanent changes, what you see is all friction fit except for the sub woofer enclosure which is bolted to via the center seat belt anchor. This has been installed for over 5 years (50K miles), was entirely home built, as witnessed by the upholstery detail, and was done in a vinyl that matched dove leather(more correctly it matched before UV exposure). It is essentially 5 pieces:
The wind diffuser is 2nd generation factory sourced from the dealer when the car was purchased new.
The stereo mods are 4 channel and mono amplification, capacitor and upgraded Alpine speakers all around (except the in-dash mids). FYI the subwoofer itself almost a perfect match for Jaguar "Quartz" and it has a big red R on it so how could I pass it up? Also, just added the iPod adapter.
With some quick stereo re-wiring the entire set up is completely reversible to stock. Sorry there are no progress photos but this was done before I knew about internet forums for Jaguar enthusiasts.
- vertical with cutouts for the amps
- subwoofer enclosure
- left parcel shelf and bolster
- right parcel shelf and bolster
- top rail
