He ended up letting the bar rest on on the ground, then when cranked, it came off. The starter is powerful !! Then he used the $20
harmonic damper puller, 8mm by 1.25 gold colored bolts, just used 2 of em out of the three.Beware of this starter's power.

Yeah, I've let the bar hang just above the ground and broke it free using the starter. The only thing I forgot to include with that whole quote was because it was so early in the morning and I was half asleep in bed posting because I hadn't slept well that night. Anyways, he mentioned about the hood being in place along with the radiator/condensor/fans being in place. Yeah, I wouldn't do that even if I was young again. (I'm 42) I need all the room I can get now a days.

You unbolt the hood, easy, the radiator and condenser come out as a single unit, simply unbolt the lines to condenser, all the hoses from ac, the driver top tranny hose fitting will strip the threads, but the fitting can be ordered cheap and just screws back in the radiator.

The indy almost has my heads off.

Where can the fittings be ordered? Cost?

Had my 2000 xkr head gasket go at 115k miles. In talking to a couple of repair shops it seems as if the headgasket is going out regardless of miles around the 14yr mark. My car had the same symptoms as your with the rough running and hydro locking. The good news is that after 27k miles after the headgasket repair the car is still running great! The independant that did the repair used the 4.2 gasket, but was advised to not mill the head, just clean it up real good and reassemble, at 115k miles he said the motor was very clean and all valve tolerances were spot on. New timing chains, guides, tensioners were installed, as well as new drive pulleys, all new coolant hoses. I had some issues after 15k miles and it was due to a few things, so I just replaced the bypass valve (it was shot) cleaned the egr valve, and had to replace the intake ducts and buy the new plates for the intake as the old were still on the car.

Good luck with you repair

Jim
