06 XK8 ABS light performance questions

Hi all,
Since I've purchased my 06 XK8 a month or 2 ago it's been really jumpy and sluggish at low speeds. It takes a significant movement of the pedal to get it off the line at which point it surges and then jerks into second following by a slight slip into 3rd, all while trying to slow itself way down if I take my foot off the gas. It feels like the transmission isn't calibrated or something but it's not getting any transmission codes and 3 different mechanics have visually looked at it and checked and said there shouldn't be anything wrong with it.
However I have been getting a abs/dsc warning light intermittently. My mechanic said it's for the front 2 abs sensor harnesses. I don't get it all the time but maybe once every 4 drives off and on. Whereas the shifting and sluggishness is all the time. I know the abs sensors are connected to computers that also adjust wheel speed and shifting etc. If the abs harness are faulty could it still be causing problems even if the light is not on at that particular time? Or will it blow the light as soon as there's and issue with them (in if I turn too far). Would fixing the harnesses adjust the transmission and general feeling of constant braking or is it likely there's another issue? Any ideas?

There have been numerous software upgrades for the 6 speed transmission. See http://jagrepair.com/images/TSB/XK8/307-01.pdf
You should get the latest software loaded, have adaptations cleared, and fluid level checked before concluding there is a problem with the transmission.
Your mechanic could be correct about the ABS. See the ABS repair checklist here: http://jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepa...heet%20XK8.pdf
