1997 XK8 convertible: camber/front end hight

I understand that the specified height from the center of the wheel hub to the wheel arch is 15.75" for the front end of my 1997 XK8 convertible.
Mine was about 14.5", had -1.5 degrees of negative camber and wore out both front tires on the inside edge very quickly.
I replaced the springs, struts and top strut mounts. The camber improved almost to spec, but the height of the front end is now 16.875"--visibly high.
In another thread it was stated that the springs for a convertible differ from the springs for a coupe. Is that true? I assume that the mechanic ordered the correct springs for my car but haven't confirmed that yet.
If the mechanic installed springs for a coupe, instead of a convertible, would that account for my ride height? Will the front end settle? Any other suggestions?
Thanks

There is a difference between the spring rates of the convertible vs. the coupe. However, it is the convertible springs that have the higher rate. If you had been given the coupe springs your height would be lower, not higher. Ask how I know.
Have you checked the height in the rear? It should be 15.75 also. If it is lower, then it will add to the height in the front. My cat set just a little high in the rear until I got the correct springs in the front and now I am at the same height all around.
Lastly, recheck how they were installed. Possibly not seated correctly in the pans?
