1997 XK8 Door Ajar Indication
Hello All,
I just started having a weird dash board indication that my passenger door is open. The car was sitting for several weeks and the battery ran down. After charging the battery, the dash message panel indicates that the passenger door is open. It's not.
Any ideas on diagnosing the issue?
Thanks in advance.
Ed

Thanks for your thoughts. The battery is relatively new, however, something drained in over a few days of non-use.
The puddle light was not on. Only passenger door error indication was on dash.
I suspected the door switch. Tried exercising it. No change.
Then suspected something with the door-related sensor circuit.
I checked the fuse panels. The passenger side facia panel has a fuse labeled "Passenger Door ECU Transit Relay Conn".
Removed that fuse to check it. Fuse OK.
And the fuse removal at the same time interrupted the circuit that might be the source of the error message.
After replacing the fuse, the error was gone.
Battery now charged. Let's see if things hold up.
Thanks again
ED K

Oh, one other observation. When the open passenger door error was active, the passenger door window would not work from the driver's side control. It would work from the control on the passenger door itself. That was a contributor to my thinking it was the passenger door sensor circuit.
Thx
