Okay the picture to the right is showing the pad and the latch open, but you want me to make sure that pad is moving freely but with the latch closed, right?

In the picture to the right, the description says it's the "Fulcrum", so i should test the "Fulcrum" but with the latch in the closed position right?

When I test the Fulcrum, does the latch have to be pump pressurized closed or not pressurized and simply closed with the Allen key?

the latch can be in any position.

 

Close it with the allen key just makes it easy.

Okay, I know its late but I just got back from a long errand and then doing what you said.

So I tried to open the top to reach in to check the fulcrum but it was too tight a space to do that and also see, so I just put the top down manually and closed the latch then checked it. It seemed fine but was a little sticky so I just wd40ed it anyway for good measure, then I pressed it with a pen repeatedly as you instructed and noticed it got looser and more bouncy so that was a good sign, I felt hopeful I might actually be accomplishing something constructive whether it solves the roof issue or not.

Anyway so I then used the Allen key to unlock the latch, put the top back up manually and locked the rams up then closed the T at the pump and closed the back windows.

Then I turned on the engine to try to see if the top might work so the windows went down and all of a sudden the top went all the way down then all the way back up, so I did that a few times to cycle and test to make sure everything was really working perfectly, I really couldn't believe what was happening and at the same time as I was telling myself what a genius you are Gus, you're truly a genius and so generous with your knowledge and time.

Just when I thought I was done and stuck with the problem you responded and showed me you care and so graciously shared your genius with me and actually solved my top problem.

Honestly I don't know why you don't open a Jag repair shop, you don't have to do any work, just hire mechanics and tell them what to do, everyone will love you and you'll get wealthy!
