Hi everyone!
I got a beautiful 1999 XK8 Convertible to enjoy the summer.
Everything works perfect but it only came with 1 key and no remote.
To get a remote and key from the Dealer it's grotesquely expensive! It's just beyond reason.
I've read some Ford FOB'S work but I don't know which model, does anybody know? I have one model CWTWB1U322 that I bought on Amazon a while ago in a pack of 2 for another car I had, Maybe I got lucky.
Thanks!

My understanding is that there are 2 different systems, the later one being installed in 2001 forward. Take a hard look at the back of the existing remote. There should be an FCC number, and a part#. Do a search on eBay. My recollection is that only the later fobs are super cheap. The earlier ones are a bit more pricey. Be sure to order a US model, I believe the European models use another frequency.
Then, check the stickies for the procedure to "add" the fob to the car. It involves the key and flashing the headlights, and can be done at home. No software tools or visit to the dealer required.
For the keys, there are options, too...
