1999 XK8 wheel upgrades - suggestions?
Hi all,
I'm planning to upgrade my wheels ("rims" as some may call them....) I have the stock 17" 5-spoke with the 90s cob-webby design in between the spokes.. It's the silver/platinum colour from that year. I'd prefer the 'double dark' tint available on some machined finishes. I've seen the coventry wheels but I'm not a fan anyways (I think most are discontinued anyways).
I'd like to avoid using adaptors.
Aiming for 20", very clean 5-spoke, but the problem is the 120.65 bolt pattern. These are all the brands I can find that have the style I'm going for, but AREN'T available withe the proper bolt pattern:

Oh......if you're from my dad's generation and not satisfied until it has torq-thrust IIs on everything with 2:1 rubber:wheel ratio.... I know what your reaction is gonna be......... hahahhahaha.

Keep in mind you are going from a 17" wheel (and associated tire size) to a 20" wheel, this is going to reduce your sidewall way down to be able to keep outside diameter of originals as to keep the electronics happy on this car. With such a low profile tire the ride will be very stiff.
That said TSW can be fitted, they come in proper bolt pattern and I only used a very small concentric ring.

I would talk to the other Vendors about the Bolt Pattern. 120.65mm is 4-3/4" which is the standard bolt pattern of pretty much every GM performance car since the 1960's: Corvette, Camaro, Trans Am, etc. Many of the wheels listed as 120mm could actually be 120.65mm.
The only real issue with Jaguars is the 73.8mm center hole as GM's hub holes are generally slightly smaller.

Yeah, I'm young and naive enough to suck up the diminished ride quality for now in exchange for style :P The tires will be lower profile but I will probably increase the overall diameter.

You can DEFINITELY use wheels that are 120mm without any problem... that is what I have on my car. The only problem I had when I bought them (used from a BMW 5-series) was that I had to have the hub bored out slightly (and I checked with the manufacturer and they said it was no problem to do). You also want to be cognizant of the wheel offset... there is wheel thread on here that has a great link to a wheel site which calculates changes related to modifying the offset. If I find the link I will post it for you.
My wheels are Avant Garde m310's I believe... a link to them is HERE.
Check them out - they have a bunch of different styles and can modify the bore for you if you purchase them straight from them I think, AND they are fairly reasonably priced.

I'm hoping to push them out a bit wider from factory too, since there's such a huge overhang from the fender (yes, I know that maybe is a throwback to the E-type, but I think that's a feature that shouldn't be revived..)

When I cross-reference the coventry site (http://fitment.coventrywheels.com/al...1999&model=XK8) it looks like for 20x8.5 wheels, I need a 20 offset but since the two options for this wheel are 15 or 35, I'd go with the 15 since I'd like to widen the track anyways (assuming it clears everything.. don't think 15 will be excessive from factory offset..).
That leaves the one option with a bore hole size of 72.60, but the Coventry site doesn't show any specs for that..Anyone know where to find that number?

I currently run 32mm spacers with 33mm offset factory 17X8's wheels to improve the appearance in back.
Attached is a picture of what "zero offset 8" wheels" this looks like.
Here is stock 33mm offset:
I'm eventually going to put 9.5" wide 70mm offset wheel in back with the 32mm spacers (38mm total offset) with 285 wide tires.
I have rolled my fender lips, but it wasn't totally necessary.

Not sure what kind of deal it is but there is a guy in Austin selling a brand new set of 20 Coventry on CL. Seems like close to retail but they have been on there for a while maybe a deal could be made. I wouldn't put a 20 wheel on mine, I think I am going to let some of the air out on my 17 inch these cars are stiff if you have some rough roads. I have been running 34 cold but going to start moving low 2 lbs at a time. I read specs somewhere saying 26 min for comfort but that seems low to me.

Well............ I've only had 3 weeks of driving and that was in October, so if I upgrade when it comes out of storage, I'll be none the wiser! hehe
Still, everyone I talk to seems to be sure that 120 on a 120.65 spec car is no problem, and have installed them many times..

Sorry I thought everyone knew that one. Craigslist should find them if you search for Coventry. Made to fit perfectly with correct offset. Probably the most popular after market wheel. I am sure if you search forum you will see the one that is similar to your pics although 18-19 probably more used
