What about Standard modern Jag wheels?
These are Jag Vortex wheels, 22 by 10 inch front, with a 20mm adapter plate. The rear is 22 by 10.5 inch with a 15mm adapter plate. They both fit with about 1mm spare. The car has been lowered and poly bushed. It drives brilliantly, planted and comfortable. The thing I remember about the old setup was the car didn't bring confidence on fast corners. Because the wheel style is modern people who do check the car out don't believe the rest of it is 16 years old. Best of luck with your choice, dont rush, have fun.
That looks awesome! Glad to hear handling is improved too.. That's almost identical to my '99, and the exact look I'm going for except a very clean 5-spoke.
I've considered it, but the idea of adapters/spacers makes me uneasy.. basically for all the reasons this guy covers
I was lucky, very luck to get the full attention of AVos to get this vehicle setup. There where a few problems initially. All the camber and alignment setting were re trimmed for the new adapter widths. I believe this was done by a locally available trusted technician. Any possible compromises taken, using adapters have worked, really worked. Just keep them to the absolute minimal width possible.
I unfortunately have no idea where AVos sourced the adapters from, sorry.
Best of luck!
H& sells adapters of various widths. They are Hubcentric and probably stronger than any wheel they are bolted to.
I used the 1.25" Jaguar specific adapters adapters sold on E-bay (because they were $60 Cheaper than the H&R), but they too are hubcentric and use the correct 1/2-20 studs (just like H&R's)
As for the video, meh. If you are running 10" wide wheels, the adapters are used to compensate a non Jaguar backspacing (like GM offsets of 60-70mm). The resulting offset is going to be very close to the original Jag offset between 25-40 mm (because the 10" wide wheel has to fit between the fender lip and inner quarter, just like the factory 10" wide wheels).
With 20's, a staggered set that is 26" diameter is a little tougher. Modern cars with 20's generally have 27" tall tires, and a 9" wide wheel will need to be slightly more than 20mm offset to work. 8" with 20mm offset and a 27" tire should work fine without getting too much into the inner fenders, but I don't think 9" wheels will clear on a properly low car.
If you went 255/30's all around (26.1 OD) on 20X9's with 20mm offset, this should work.
If you wanted 275's or 285's in back with a 20X10" wheel, you would need 1) and offset between 30-40mm and 2) a tire in front with a 26.5-27" tall to match (probably 255 max).
Been in touch with SD wheels in the US of A, and they're really helpful - found 2 styles from Spec-1 brand that are exactly what I'm after with the option to custom drill the required bolt pattern!
Ok, so this was delayed much longer than anticipated.. anyways..
I've found a nice clean 10-spoke available for just under 1k. specs are (same for all 4):
20x9, Blank drilled to 5x4.75 73.8mm, offset +20
Car is stock height. This looks like stock offset (using Fitment | Coventry Jaguar Wheels as reference), and 1/2" wider will bring the track out slightly but I think there will also be a noticeable fender overhang....
