Default 2,000 mile trip. No problem.

We all post when we have an issue with these cars. Thought I'd post a feel good story...

My wife and just returned home from a two week road trip in the XK8. It was all good. Car never missed a beat. Bulletproof reliable. Never a care. Top down plenty.

The car has about 67,000 miles on it.

We put exactly 2303.7 miles on the trip.

The trip meter said we averaged 25.9 MPG.

The car is ready to go again if we wish.

Details...

Atlanta, Georgia to Asheville, North Carolina
Asheville to Williamsburg, Virginia
Williamsburg to Ocean City, Maryland
Ocean City to Cape May, New Jersey (for the bird migration)
Cape May to Front Royal, Virginia (top of the Skyline Drive)
Front Royal to Waynesboro, Virginia (end of the Skyline Drive)
Waynesboro to Peaks of Otter Lodge (near the top of the Blue Ridge Parkway)
Peaks of Otter Lodge to Mount Airy, North Carolina (Andy Griffith show based on this town - he grew up here)
Mount Airy to Blowing Rock, North Carolina
Blowing Rock to Little Switzerland, North Carolina
Little Switzerland to Flat Rock, North Carolina (check out the Flat Rock Playhouse!!)
Flat Rock to Waynesville, North Carolina
Waynesville to Atlanta

Some really nice roads and scenery on that trip. Sounds like a great time and glad the Jag performed as designed.

Nice, most of that trip is my old stomping grounds, owned the top of a mountain out side of Waynesboro VA. Great roads for 4 and 2 wheels, I miss being able to drive all day long and go more than 40 miles in a circle!

Gotta love the Blue Ridge Parkway, particularly right now when the leaves are in their most vivid autumn colors. Glad you had a carefree trip....

Here is a nice scene from a high level of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Most of the leaves gone at this high altitude. Lots of colorful leaves at lower levels.

Hey we just stopped in Mt Airy on our 2 week sprint as well. Had breakfast at Snappy's.

Did you see any XK8/Rs on your trip? We only encountered two, both in PA.

No, didn't eat at Snappy's. Got there too late for lunch. Got breakfast at the B&B the next morning before we moved on.

Saw only one XK8 the whole trip. We were coming off the Blue Ridge Parkway towards Waynesville, North Carolina. There are several routes. I have taken them all. State Road 215 between the Blue Ridge Parkway and Waynesville is not to be missed. Magnificent. And sparsely traveled. An XK8 was coming up as we were headed down.
