I thought the adult beverage was number one... oops my bad.

Anyway I guess I will do the real #1 another day. Today the Jag is runnin, and runnin well. Swapped coil 8 with 7, checked all connections. Checked throttle body connections. Made my boys take the coil cover off. They could not wait for me to re install the battery and try to crank it. They went back inside to play games on the puter. Low and behold it cranked. Very rich smell when it started. It ran fine from the start, and then perfect. Took it for a ride. Runnin on all cyl. I put the OBD back on it, and it never finished the scan. I had to return the OBD to its owner. Next problem I will purchase my very own.

I wanna thank my pit crew here for the help. My producer, mother, and all of you the fans. Until next issue thanks!

Do you all still think I should do #1?

All you did was check the connections? Do you know what prevented it from starting?

So far everything I've said on this thread has been wrong (still not convinced about fuel pressure though) but I'll try again.
If you've got an Android phone get one of there
Android ELM327 V1.5 Bluetooth Super Mini OBD2 OBDII Auto Car Diagnostic Scanner | eBay
and an app called Torque.
You've got something funny going on and you will need live data to sort it.

Did you do #1 yet? (It's number one for a reason....)

If you tell us what you did to get it started. People ask us how to but never tells us what worked.

Here you go: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...nsioners-4747/
and https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ics-how-52653/

Those posts should get you going.

This is the #1 thing that can/will can destroy your engine if not addressed. That is why everyone listed it as #1 thing to do.

Costs about $200 in parts and 4-8 hours labor, depending on how fast you are. It is also very easy to do. If you can turn a wrench and read a torque wrench, you can do it.

It started after checking all the connections. Changing the #8 ignition coil and checking the fuel pressure. I am not sure why it started unless one of the connections I checked did the trick, or uninstalling and resinstalling the battery did it. I will check the number one another day. It ran like a top all day today about 50 miles no issues so far.

Well, I hope we don't have to say "We told you so."

You could end up with a ruined engine if you keep running it with out checking the upper timing chain tensioners. Especially since it is already giving you some trouble indicating neglected maintenance in the past.

Just a very friendly reminder here that you need to check this as ASAP and not run the engine until you are sure you have the latest, metal, 3rd generation upper timing chain tensioners.

Fix it now and it costs a couple of hundred bucks. They can let go any time and your car will be worthless.

You might want to research the 'zip-tie method' of changing the secondary tensioners which requires no special tools.

There is tons of information on this method, as well as the factory authorized method here. You should do some research on the forum and decide which one you are more comfortable with.

Default Zip Tie Method Timing Chain Tensioners

I checked out the video, seemed much easier than the buy $250 in tools method. This looks like something I would tackle this week. Any comments before I either do this easily and on the cheap/turn my new fun toy into a really big paper weight.

Not near Atlanta, but I spent a few years in Athens. GO DOGS! LOL!

At 60K I think your lower tensioners and chains are probably OK.

I would do the "zip tie" method and just replace the upper or secondary tensioners. That is how I did mine at 59K.
