My convertable top is leaking fluid into the dome light area too. I think a new line was installed by the previous owner. Any advice?

It could be a one of three things a hose the latch or a bad connection. You need to get the cover off to see what is leaking.

I started to change out the tensioners and have almost everything done. I then went back to read over some instructions and realized the cam covers need to go back in order (palm smacks head, go to store buy 12 pack, drink, sober up, post on forums) Where can I find the correct order to replace the covers as some idiot (myself) took them off and did not record the order they were taken off in or the alignment.

I guess you mean the cam bearing caps??

If so, they have numbers etched into the top and an arrow which points to the front (?) of the engine.

I want to change out the cam cap bolts I need 40 of them. I see they are about $3 each. I can't find a good source easily. Any suggestions?

One broke at 80lbs. I am afraid for the others. I can dig this one out, but there are places where if it breaks in the block I am in trouble.

Do you mean on removal? Steel and aluminum do tend to adhere, but that is pretty high.

Correct tightening torque is only 11 Nm.

Got it all back together. Looks like it is the front tension-ers or guide issue. Sounds like a possible valve problem as well. Argh, gonna have to decide how bad I wanna keep it. Arg, need a beer or 3 to ponder.

It looks like you changed the tensioners ok, what's up with it now ? I think I missed a bit of the story. If you still have a noise, remove the serpentine belt and see if it goes away. My steering pump pully had loose bolts and the bearings in both the belt tensioner and idle pully's were damaged. Cheap fix and all quiet now apart from a very short noise when engine first started, which I guess is caused by the cam tensioners taking up slack in the chain.

yea, started new thread, was trying to close this one out.

I have chain guide and lower tensioner issues. Gonna tear into that project soon. Have not decided to do that myself or farm out. I have a good mechanic buddy with a small shop that can turn the wrench. Wife not so happy with me taking up her space in the garage for a few weeks while I do the work.... ya I know a few weeks? Well I have about an hour to work on it every other day or so. If I want my fun car back I might have to let somone else touch it. Not happy with that, but what u gonna do.
