2001 ragtop stops working

Sounds like the switches are 'out-of-sync'?
Loosen the hydraulic pump valve on the side of the unit and pull the top down tight to MANUAL latch the top.
Hopefully the Allen tool is still attached to the 'holders' near the open/close valve.
8mm or 10mm (can't remember which size) hex tool will work to rotate the latch open/close to trap the top closed.
All this should be in the owner's manual.
Once the switches are set to CLOSED, the top might begin to operate normally?

Motorcarman, you live up to your handle! I did as you described (also in user manual, 8-3). The Allen wrench was missing, but I found the right one (8mm) in my shop and latched the top. Then turned the pump valve fully clockwise...and it works! Up and down. These cars are crazy complicated, but sure are fun.
