Default 2001 XKR all kinds of faulty warning messages

Hi everybody, I'm having a problem with my 2001 XKR and I'm hoping someone can help. I've had the car for going on 10 years now and I've had few problems with it. It is a low miles car and is used very little. Recently I left the ignition in the on position and didn't discover my error for several weeks. When I did the battery was completely discharged and had to be replaced because it couldn't be recharged. Now the car starts right up but when the car goes through it's start check I get all kinds of error messages. Here is a list of the errors: Low Brake Fluid, Incorrect Part Number, Transmission High Temp, Failsafe Engine Mode, Park Brake On, Transmission Fault. On top of that the car is stuck in park and the RPM meter is not working. I tried doing a hard reset by disconnecting the negative battery wire and touching it to the positive wire for 30 seconds with no luck. I also checked all the fuses still no luck. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Let's see if we can get you started

Take a look at this thread started by Jay48 and report back. The symptoms seem very similar: dead battery; not driven for some time, then multiple random errors etc. so it may be the IC:

Default Trouble Codes

About 4 years ago, I had just bought my 2006 XK8. Drove it for a few months, then the "Check Engine Light" came on. Went to the dealer, and he printed out 3 pages of trouble codes for my car !! What the Hell did I buy? We decided that we would do nothing at that point, and the dealer reset all the trouble codes. Drove it for another few months before the trouble light came back on. This time, the only true issue was the coil packs and plug wires. All the other codes had apparently been the result of the battery being discharged prior to my buying the car. The dead battery set off a multitude of trouble codes. This may be your problem, too.

Yup! That ^^^^^^

Same thing here,,, but used the OBD... Cleared codes and all was well... Accept the VVT issue I have that I'll never solve. Bugger!

Get a TORQUE obd and clear the codes. You might have a few hangers-on-erz but I bet you'll end up with zero codes...

Default Loose wire

I was looking for a loose wire and I ran across one next to the battery. Does anyone know if this wire is suppose to be loose or does it plug into something I can’t find? Thanks for the help.

HA! I am super interested in an answer to this for that wire... I've been looking at it free floating in the boot of the flooded XKR I'm trying to save... Anyone know what it is?

Default Could be defunct connection for the transit relay.

When the car was shipped from the factory, there was a transit unit connected to the battery which was removed upon delivery.

Check out post #8 from the thread below for a pic.
