On the first pics here I note that black film around the mirror mating surface that I have removed since. Prob should have not done that. It was not holding the mirror up there I think now. Damn. I assume that was just to shade sun off the mirror.

I am about to putt all crap down and attach a regular mirror up there. All that fancy **** is fine till it breaks, then it costs crazy money to fix.
My mirror is fine, the spots she was seeing was dirt on WINDOW casting shadows. Ha ha ha
The mirror appears fine, not spotting or lines or diff shades in the mirror when you look at it.

Took car to Jag dealer today, they say I have to REPLACE the windshield to fix my mirror issue, that with my rain and light sensor set up, the windshield will come with what is needed to remount my mirror. Huuum. Wonder if that window is avail still?

Brgjag, WOW! Sorry. I don't know much about the 2003 mirror, but replace the wind shield to reattach it seems a bit of a stretch.
If the sensors are of no concern, there is a glue made for attaching mirrors, super glue stuff, but yours only has the round edging and not a flat base, so not sure you will get enough surface for it to work.
How about the pad thing that was referenced in a earlier post, might work?

That was what mine cost to replace. So much better now. Had a lot of little chips.

I saw a video on YouTube, they were using a windshield that had round piece that sits around the sensor on the window I think, The dealer dude said the round thing that is still clipped into my mirror comes on the window. I will look closer at it and see if I can get my old round pc on the window but the dealer service guys said the attaching glue if you will is not the same as what is on NORMAL cars.
So am I right ENDERLE, the window comes with the attaching round thing that goes around the sensor on the window? WHo did yours for you????

well finally got the low down on fixing my car. I have to replace the window. The new one comes with the mounts on it, the black looking tint around the base of the mirror, they reuse my rain sensor with a new pad, and all is done 800 bucks later.
In my pics in the thread the round metal thing on my mirror comes already attached to the windshield. The mirror snaps onto it. I think before I drop 800 bucks if I can take that round mount and re-attach it to my window and see it if will hold for a bit till i can spend 800 bucks to get it right later down the road.
