Default 2003 Convertible Advice Needed

My 2003 Convertible top seems to be working fine but I am wondering what I can do to keep it in good order. I have read something about a pressure relief mod for the hydraulics. Can anyone expand on this? Also, is Pentosin CHF 11S the correct fluid for this system?

This forum has a lot of the information you are looking for just do a search on the roof system or you can go to my page Jaguar XK8 & XKR 1997 - 2006 Let us know if you have additional questions.
Yes Pentosin CHF 11S is the correct fluid. You can get it at AutoZone at a better price than Jaguar so shop around.

In fairness, and for full disclosure, there are two options for pressure relief protection on the convertible top system. If you go to the FAQ page for this subforum (xk8-xkr) you'll find other links for an electrical resistor modification. Both use different principles to suppress spikes in the pressure, and both have their supporters. It really depends on what you understand, and have more confidence in. Price is sometimes an issue also, and the resistor will win every time there.

Gus, thanks again for your research on this system. Is LSI the sole seller of the hydraulic relief valve upgrade? Any discounts to Forum members that you are aware of?

LSI is the only provider of the valve and I have nothing to do with the sales or price of it. At the present time I know of no discounts. Sorry!
