2003 XK8 Water Pump Part# FYI/DIY
For future searches by folks needing to change out their water pumps I have posted this thread as I just did this repair. VERY EASY repair, if you can change oil, even a battery you can do this.
Take out the 3 bolts on the WP pulley, then take off the belt from that pulley then the pulley is off. 5 bolts to take off the WP. Take them out slowly, gently break them then take them out slowly. If you can wire wheel clean the bolts DO IT.
I used some pressured can of cleaner (I just used electronic cleaner since it was pressurized) to blow out the bolt holes after you have cleaned up the mounting surfaces and the round opening of the pump opening. Clean it all up good, run a bolt through all 5 holes before mounting pump to make sure they go in well, if not, flush offending hole again, clean up the bolt if dirty.
Put on pump, finger tighten the bolts, then torque the bolts to 8nm +90 degree then put on the WP pulley, finger tighten the 3 bolts, put back on belt then torque the pulley bolts to 10nm + 45 degree
I used AC DELCO 252-800 professional Water Pump. This one is the same as the fact orig, o-ring and metal gasket. It all comes together and for 50 bucks what a deal I think.
I got mine through Amazon. I think this pump works on all 97-2006 models????
