Jim, the JTIS has a step by step procedure. Go make 9 more post to on the forums and you can download the JTIS off of the sticky's. It looks to be a simple job. Go introduce your self and welcome to the forum. You'll find a wealth of information here.

Remove the left hand front wheel, and the plastic wheel well liner. This will expose the purge valve on the right side of the wheel well. It should be a pretty obvious swap from there. An electrical connector and 3 or 4 hoses will need to be disconnected and 2 or 3 bolts removed. Be sure to check the hoses for deterioration and replace if necessary.

I want to change my purge valve as in Tech Bulletin 303-63.
When you say Remove the left hand front wheel is that standing in front of the car and looking at the bonnet (hood) or is it when sitting in the driver's seat??

Also, when reading TB 303-63 it says to replace the hose and filter, showing the filter sitting next to the brake master cylinder. When I look around my brake master cylinder there is No hose or Filter?? My car is a 2001 XK8 which is supposed to be covered by this TB (1999-2002 MY XK range).

Any help will be appreciated, ny wife says the smell must go!!

-As Doug said, the convention of left and right in an automobile is always from the drivers seat perspective.

-Regarding the hose and filter in the TSB, they are new additions for use only with the redesigned purge valve...that is why you do not see them on your car.

No. It is the same perspective as when you are driving (ie; left side = left turn, right side = right turn). The passenger side is the right.
