Default 2004 XKR transmission fault

my 04 xkr has been flawless until a recent momentary trans fault message. When I got home, I used the code reader to pull the codes which showed no trans codes. Now the trans fault error flashed again weeks later on a short trip, then the car died. Had to get a tow truck lift home which really hurt me feelings. It will start then shut off. Could it be a torque converter issue? Again, car has been perfect, with only 41k ...love this car and is first instance if trouble. Any help is priceless...again, no signs at all of trans slipping, short shifting, or anything, this came out of no where......

Better diagnosticians than I will be along soon, but they are going to want the codes you pulled. No matter they are not transmission codes. These cats can throw the darndest codes sometimes, seemingly unrelated to the problem.

Electrical gremlins love to pop up like the ghosts of Lucas. Could be a bad ground kicking the electricals, spawning the codes and keeping it from starting.

If it dies and will not restart, that doesn't sound like the transmission. Post your codes and any other symptoms or odd things you may have noticed recently.

Any codes at all?

Next, what are the LTFT values, engine hot, parked, per bank, at idle & 2500rpm? 4 numbers. elm327 will do this.

Maybe fuel filter blocked or near dead fuel pump - test fuel pressure...

+1. Much more likely than transmission given the symptoms.
