255/35 20 wheels rubbing
285/30 20 and 255/35 20 are standard right? I have a base xkr coupe that had 255 rears and 245 fronts. I upgraded my wheels and I love them. Fits the wheel well perfectly. But certain bumps or uneven pavement makes them rub just a bit. Is this normal? Are the wheel arches different on the base or something?

Wheels, Wheels and more Wheels!
LossKing,
The stock BBS Montreal and Detroit Wheels are 255/35-20 Front and 285/30-20 Rear...
The outset on your new Wheels appears to be sticking out farther than the BBS Wheels do.....Which means of course that you probably need to do as Mhminnich has suggested which will bring them back in somewhat so they won't drag on the Fender Lip.....They do appear to be sticking out a good 1/2" or so farther than my 20" BBS Montreal's.......
Also, your front-end may need some work....You know shock-Towers could effect this also......But please, don't do anything to the Fenders! (Fender Roll)
They look pretty good and I'll bet they were a lot less than BBS's would have been!

Those wheels look sweet...may be worth working them a little if there is enough material. I went 15mm spacers on the back and it stopped an inside rub, a very slight one. Is it your fronts rubbing or your backs or both? Offset is important. I would wonder if milling off 10 to 15mm would correct it?
Offset is a measurable #, not some great mystery.
I don't know if there are people out there who would even take on the risk to mill the hub section of the wheels. Those do look really really good on your car though.

20" BBS Wheels "Montreal"
Lossking,
Looking closely at your new 20" Wheels and trying to compare how they fit in your wheel wells compared to mine....is hard to do at these angles but it appears that your wheels stick-out a little more than mine or it could be that your Front-end shocks need rebuilding...My wheels & Tires seem to be inside the wheel-wells, whereas yours are more even with the edge or roll of the Fenders... Compare the Photo of my left front to your left-side Photos...Measure from the outside Roll to the Tire and send the Measurements, I'll compare and let you know....The Tires are: Front: 255X35-20 Front & 285X30-20 Rear and are Continentals DW's. Your Wheels may need to be trimmed on the back center-piece, as was suggested earlier....

As far as I know the detroits were 20x10 with 25 offset at the rear and 20x9 with 30 offset at the front.
If your replacements are the same width front and back it may be part of your problem since jag ran an inch narrower at the front.
You may just have to make up your own offset to suit based on your fit.
