5HP24 transmission fluid capacity

Hello everyone,
In reading the pdf from the ZF transmission site linked below:
http://www.zf.com/media/media/docume...sa_4/5HP24.pdf
I see fluid capacity noted as 10.5 quarts.
Does anyone know if this amount includes the torque converter? If not, how many quarts are needed in total if the converter is flushed?
I had this rebuilt a little over a year ago, with a fluid change due. The person changing it asked that I supply the fluid, and I want to be sure I'm buying the correct amount of fluid.
Thank you.

10.5 includes the convertor but if you're only draining the pan you won't need near that much as the convertor, cooler, etc. won't drain through the pan. If you're flushing it I'd get and use 15. And don't freak out over using the Jaguar fluid, just use something that meets the spec LT 71141. I've been using Valvoline Import Multi-Vehicle ATF for a couple years now with no ill effects. Even ZF won't say 'Don't use', they just say 'we haven't tested anything else' (read: except our over-priced brand.)

Beav, thanks.
I'll likely ask him to flush the torque converter - it couldn't hurt. What makes up the other 4.5 quarts to get from 10.5 to 15?
I'm going to contact a Mobil distributor nearby and ask how much LT 71141 costs from there. Last year, my mother's 2008 Mercedes CLK 350 Cabriolet Sport needed its transmission fluid changed, and going to a distributor that sold a Mercedes spec fluid made by Shell for it saved a lot of money.

Flushing is accomplished by tapping into the cooler line. Basically/typically the cooler line is the return from the convertor (as far as the transmission is concerned and by far the largest generator of heat in an automatic trans) sent to the cooler and returned to the transmission. When it is returned to the trans it just 'spills' back into the pan, mixing with whatever is currently occupying space there. That's why I normally suggest using more fluid than just what the trans holds. The more you push through, the closer you are to a complete change of fluid.

Thanks oldmots. I'm going to see what prices locally first, and then compare. I'd prefer to be able to pick up something like this myself.
