7 years here and a thanks!
I just realized I have been here for 7 years last month. Want to thank all that have helped me personally along the way, to give me the confidence to do work on this Jag (and the 97 I owned back in 2009 time frame) I NEVER thought I would have and thanks to all that have made the many posts on how to do this and that for us to read and learn from!

I would never have had the courage to buy my XK8 were it not for this Forum. I read it as much as I could for about a year before I bought my car. I constantly learn new things here to this day.
Thanks to all the amazing folks who help us out!

Hey Tim--congrats! Your post made me go back to see when I first discovered the forum. My first post was August 28, 2007 when I was asking if I was an idiot to consider buying an XK8/XKR. Ironically I hadn't realized that when I finally bought one it was one year to the day after that initial post.

I won't lie, it is a love hate thing at times. Ha ha ha. But we drive the car on a semi regular basis and plan too all winter when the roads are dry and salt free. So hopefully she will continue to be trouble free. My next immediate repair to shut up the front end bumping noises will be sway bar bushings and end links. I do have a new rad hose (lower) that I did not see till after it was on the car appears to have slight cuts in them, like a razor black got it. I have a new hose, just to lazy to put on as that lower hose is a BITCH to put on.

I've been on nearly 6. Bought my 2004 XK8 in 2009 the day after thanksgiving with 29500 miles. She now has 42500. I've had a few issues the major one being a Mechatronix the didn't measure temp and had to be replaced. I changed all the fluids and did the manual latch for the convertible top Dennis came up with. Also put in the resistor to bring the voltage down in the convertible pump motor. No green shower. Replaced the front brake rotors with Euro spares also the pads on all 4 and had the wheels redone and mounted Michelin Pilot sport II's. I found an Arden Exhaust on eBay and had that installed. Also made a intake mod from the Mina system. Still like driving her. I normally keep the top down all summer and cover her in the winter and have an ACM battery. I've found they are sensitive to how good the battery is and will perform best with ACM's. Everyone here has been Top Shelf and I love the car and its looks and plan on keeping here for a while.
