I've moved your question from Jaguar Forums Feedback & Suggestion Centre to X100 forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

Default Check battery and battery cables

My bet is, in order of To Do
1. Battery (any shop can do load tests to make sure battery is ok). Make sure battery terminal connections are clean
2. Negative battery cable attached to body (clean body terminal fixing with sand paper until shiney bright. Use electrical contact cleaner)
3. Positive cable battery is connected to a HPP junction box. Make sure this connection is clean and tight. The nut here is known to work loose

Let's see if I can be of some help with your problem. Up front I have to tell you I need a lot more information. In the mean time time let's start with the basic's of the XK8. The electrical system doesn't like any weakness in the battery system. So a few things that don't cost money can be a place to start.
1. Remove the battery and take it to an auto store that can do a LOAD TEST. If it fails replace it.
2. While the battery is removed clean and polish the connectors.
3. With a known good battery and clean connectors try things again.

Now for further questions to get to the root of the problem:
A. Does this occur when you first start the car?
B. Does this occur while you have had the car running for awhile and driving?

Do the battery checks and get back to us with the results and answers and we can move on from there.
