It wouldn't surprise me if all the early ones develop problems. They used cheap electrolytic capacitors and they don't like temperature extremes or age so they eventually leak the electrolytic fluid onto the pc board and damage it. To me they are a time bomb. My Cruise Control had been out for months and that turned out to be the ECU also. If you are ok with a few days of down time its worth getting it rebuilt so it doesn't bite you later. They are easy to remove and not that expensive for the piece of mind.

Congrats! I know you're very relieved. Once your battery is back up to speed, put some miles on your car and let us know how it's doing. Good job....

It started fine this morning when it was 12F out and drove it to 5 destinations with no problems.
The only problem I had was the door unlocked fine but when closed it wouldn't latch until I slammed it closed (not real hard) a couple of times then it latched and worked from then on. Guess these cars don't like freezing temps much. At least the heat works but it took it a few minutes like most cars.
It's supposed to be -1F Thursday night so hope it survives that, I know my house wont as these Southern VA homes were not built with sub zero temps in mind. I bought a curb key so I can shut the water main off before it gets that cold and try and drain the pipes. It got down to 9F a month ago and 1/3 of the neighbors had busted pipes.
