Default 97' XK8 fog light replacement?

I searched on here and Youtube, is there any videos, diagrams, or good descriptions on how to replace a drivers side fog light?

If not, if I take off the tire and pull the liner back, how hard of a job is it and any special tools required?

You should find a door in the wheel well to open no need to pull the liner out. I have not had a need to replace any bulbs but I cannot imagine is it difficult to do

Default You can also do it from the bottom

You can also pull off the nose cover under the car and get to this. I actually replaced both of mine with LED units that Paragon made up for me. Easy mod.

I had to replace both of my fog lights. Depending on what sort of climate your car has been used in they could prove difficult to replace without at least taking the front bumper cover off completely. I live in the UK and I found that due to the heavy salting that goes on over here during the Winter the capitive mild steel bolts , 3 per fog lamp, had seized, and had to be hack sawed off. Not an easy job.

If I try to go in from the wheel well, is taking off the tire going to make much difference?

I've needed to replace my right fog twice now so last time I pulled them both and put in after markets for $30 rather than $300. You'll need to pull the bumper facia (not a big job at all) then you can see to work on the frozen bolts in the little burls that turn in the plastic holders. Trust me, way less time and trouble.

Them LEDs on the fog lights look nice but was wondering what was the $30 option? Does this include the lens? Both of mine are cracked. I already got LEDs on the parking light, and went HID 6k on the projector lights so I just need the fog lights now.

Do you have a link RJag or direct me to where to look for them?

The lights are from Princess Auto, and automotive and salvage retailer up here in Canada. I tried to post a link to them but the system won't let me. Regardless, a quick google will get you there. These were in their surplus area. They are actually quite good lights with very thick polycarbonate lenses so I'm hooping they are more stone resistant than the ones I replaced. They are 3.5 inch diameter so they are identical size. They are intended to attach with a bracket that screws into each side of the lens case. I didn't use the bracket but instead, screwed them into each side of the bumper bracket and added a small spacer washer. They look factory.

Yes, it's been a while. I scoured the sight and do not see the ones I bought but there are some others, perhaps not so well suited though I found the led ones interesting. See the link. Princess Auto deals in a lot of surplus so it's possible that mine were the end of a run. Three and a half (or slightly less) diameter lights must exist in abundance out there (at a whole lot less than the Jaguar ones) but you will need a bit of thought to modifying the mounts. The Jag lights are, of course, designed for the existing bumper facia mount but as mentioned earlier, the brass inserts that act as nuts, turn in the plastic of the facia and there is no way you can get at them without taking the facia off. If you are only changing bulbs, then the door in the wheel well is adequate.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks for responding RJag. Ya, I saw these LED ones and was thinking about it - just not sure how that middle chrome bar would look installed on the car. I'm sure I can find other LED lights that don't have that. So as long as a stay 3.5 inches or slightly less, I should be ok. That shouldn't be too difficult to find a suitable replacement. Did you need a conversion box for the wiring or just splicing the wires will do?

Hey, I am looking for billet grills for these years XK8's.. This picture is about as close to it as I have ever seen.. Seems like it would not be a hard find but I haven't found any.. I really would like to get big wide spoke billet grill.. I think it would look great.. Look at the Aston Martin with their grills..

Just seeing if anyone has a place that may have these.. Thanks..

Default 2000 xk8

I have a broken lens and bad bulb on the driver's side fog light. I'm having a hard time finding replacement parts. I would appreciate anyone who can share reasonably priced parts suppliers for this.
