98 XK8 Polyurethane Bushings
Recently it has come to my attention that my 98 XK8 is due for bushings at the shocks and upper control arms. It is my understanding that there have beennumerous issues with these specific bushings on this series car. Given this I was looking to replace these with polyurethane bushings. Is anyone aware of a manufacturer or distributor that would have these? I’ve used the ones from energy suspension in the past, but they do not currently have a product for the XK8.
Best,
JL

RE: 98 XK8 Polyurethane Bushings
I like to think of getting 9-10 years from OEM bushings (I replaced mine after 5yrs and 65k miles) a successful life expectancy. In the case of suspension (and couple other key components) I like to stick with the jag issue parts. Price is relatively affordable, and if you can find a shop that will do them for less than the dealer labor ($115 an hour) you'll pay alot less than I did for sure. How much life are you wanting to get out of them, if I may ask?

I've got them. They do need to be pressed to the old shock mount plate. Instructions included.

Hey CB.A word of friendly advice:
Attacking a long time member inthe way you attacked h20Boy,using the language you used, is totally uncalled for. Grantedhe did not directly address the OP's question. However, nothing in his posted reply warrantsan outburst like that from you or anyone else.
On this forum Matt is well liked;his opinions are respected; and he has a history of helpingother members.
You have beenhere for only a few months; haven't contributed anything substantialthat I can see;and are losing friends fast.
I mean nothing personal towards you... Just trying to set things right. gordo

98 XK8 Polyurethane Bushings
I just bought a Jaguar 1999 JX8L with 108K. I allways love the look and the class of the Jaguar. But stayed away. I knew was an expensive proposition any way you look it at. New or Used. But I found this one while visiting my son and fall in love and had to take it home.
It has some isues one of them the Bushing of the front suspension. So I want to thanks for bringig this isue to the table and the great solution offered.
I was allready scared that had to pay $300 per each. And now very happy that I could solve at least this problem for $75.
So thanks again to all of you.
Esteban
PS: If some one know a good mechanic in miami that could take care of him I will appreciate if you let me know. Thanks

Esteban, we've got quite a few members registered in florida, and most are signed up in the regional area, take a look and see if they've already answered your question to finding a good mechanic. If not, post a new thread there, and see what you get. i bet you'll find a recommendation or two.

Thanks Gordo and Jag69, and when CB00jaguar originally 'contributed' to this thread, i wasn't a moderator...and nothing ever happened as a result, and it was only a few months later that he opened up his piehole again and I was in more of a fortunate position to clean up. I only smiled a little.
