98XK898K miles having great difficulty removing crank damper pulley
I am trying to remove the crankshaft damper pulley, no joy. I have not got a Jaguar puller but trying to use an universal one without success. Have anyone out there removed said pulley without a Jag tool if so please enlighten me. I will get one but time and money made me try the other way. I think I am making it tighter because of the split collar , not sure how that's suppose to work, what was wrong on how it worked on the sixesJob stopped until I remove this pulley, any help would be most appreciated.

I used a universal one. I loosened the bolt first, then used intake runner bolts (metric) to attach the puller. Tighten the wrench up and hit the centre of the puller bolt to break the pulley loose. It's not a straight brute force method, you put a load on the pulley with the puller, than shock it loose with a hammer.

A great big thank you. I believe I have the same problem, no pressure in 6 and 7 I was using the same type of puller. Did you leave the bolt in but loose then tighten the puller down to the face of the pulley. It look as if there is something under the puller between the crankshaft, would that be the bolt head. Any chance of talking to you, I have unlimited minutes to Canada and really slow at typing. Thanks for your help and pictures.
