Default 99 XK8 breather pipe

I am getting ready to replace the breather pipe on my 99 XK8. Can I thread the new one in by tying it to the old one and pull or should I remove the intake? If I remove the intake is there anything else I should address while it is off?
Thanks!
LaRue

Can you be more specific as to which breather (or post a picture)? I cannot think of any that you have to pull through the way you describe.

Assuming you're referring to the part load breather pipe in which case you can fit it without removing the inlet manifold - I did- using a piece of string tied to the old one then using it to pull the new one in - in a couple of places you need to just help it along with a screwdriver from the top. However I did have to remove the throttle body to remove the connection in that area - it was too awkward with the TB installed. Replace the TB gasket and clean the electrical connectors whilst you're in there.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I am refering to the breather pipe (plastic hose) that goes from the valve cover, under the intake to the rear of the motor on the left side of the motor. Thanks!

I am also needing to replace this part. If I may ask, where did you purchase the replacement?

I purchased it at Coventry West in Atlanta. I am sure Barrett will also have it.
Let me know if you need more details. Getting the old one off is a challenge. Use a pair of needle hose pliers to push in the clip to get them off.
