Smile ABS and ASC question.

Out for an evening drive top down. We ran through some standing water and later on noticed an ABS warning and ASC warning. When I got home and shut down then restarted both warnings were gone. I know what the ABS is but what is the ASC? Am I right in thinking that the water caused this?

Glad both are gone and the car now seems clear to go.

It would really help if I had a complete list of what all the codes refer to. Is such a list available. Have done a search and had no luck.

Thanks guys for your help.

You wont be able to read those, however, without a more advanced scanner. Since steam/water seems to have been the culprit, I would check your wheel sensor connectors and the big abs one too. Seal them up good, look for cracks or loose ones.

Thanks Matt for the info. Yes, I noticed steam as I passed through about 4 or 5 inches of water for about 20 feet. So all that make sense and I will have a look at the wheel sensors and do what sealing that is needed.

But I also got the message - ASC not available. I don't know what that is. And is there a list somewhere in the forum that you know about that list what all the messages that can show up mean and what the codes mean.

Thanks Matt for your help.

Hi Bob,
The ASC is stability control, and it will not work if the wheel sensors are out.
