ABS light still on after module repair...
I followed these directions "http://jagrepair.com/ABSModuleRepairs.htm" to repair the ABS Module. After the repair the Trac not available and ASC not available warnings went out so I fixed something but the ABS light is still on. Does the ABS light have to be cleared or do I have another problem?
I'm assuming I still have a problem... If so, does anybody know of a good affordable ABS tool that I can scan it with? I remember reading a post on here about one that you plug in to your Android phone but I can't find it now.

Thanks

If I remember correctly when I repaired mine, it took driving a few miles before it went off.
Have you driven it? It will be safe and your brakes will work, just without ABS if it is still faulty.
If that doesn't work, time to search threads for the other issues that would cause this. You will find tons of threads on the subject.

I wouldn't make that mistake. I had the codes read in the past which pointed to the module. Sure enough when I opened the module the connections were broken. After I repaired the module the ASC/Trac not available messages went away so I definitely fixed something.
My OBDII scanner doesn't read ABS codes so I don't know what the DTC code is. The only place I know that can read them for me is over an hour away and not open until Mon. And that's why I asked if anybody had recommendations for an affordable ABS tool...?
Thanks for the responses!!

Ryan,
By ABS light you mean the little yellow icon, not an "ABS not available" message, right?
If so, and you have no " ... not available" messages, I think you're done. The icon should go dark after a little driving. At least that was the pattern when clearing problems on my '01. Good luck.

Assuming the original fault is now fixed(and there are no other faults) the ABS light will go out when the car is driven and exceeds(from memory) 12mph.
